Auction.ph, the foremost on line shopping mall in the Philippines, revamps its website with a cleaner, more streamlined interface for easier user navigation. Cutting down the loading time for the homepage was also one of the major objectives in the redesign. Loading time was significantly cut down after the revamp by almost 80% from 15 – 20 seconds to 3 – 5 seconds.

“For the homepage, we decided to do away with excesses, like flash animation, and just concentrate on what the website is all about. It’s all about exciting merchandise and unique online events and promos,” says Ms. Jenny Kim, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Auction.ph.

Page loading time is crucial in regulating the bounce rate of the website. “Internet users can get very impatient and you can expect them to switch to another site if loading time takes too long,” adds Ms. Kim. “In relation to keeping our users glued to the site, we launched a new corner called the Fun Place. Visitors can check out the corner and enjoy the irresistible online games we have available.” The Fun Place has new online games like Match The Faces, Sudoku, and Mastermind.

is it really true that we can purchase items without exactly going out from our houses or offices? I think so! Undeniably through Auction.PH, a local shopping site with lots of items to offer….from gadgets to cars…I think they want to be recognized as the first local website to widely promote e-commerce in the country in the most secure way with their very own so called ESCROW SYSTEM.
